NYCSBUS Is Governed by a Board of Directors and Follows the Laws of New York and the United States.
Some of laws and policies we believe are most important to our company and its employees are these.
Whistleblower: We want to run school busing right. If you believe that NYCSBUS or anyone at NYCSBUS is violating any laws, regulations, or procedures or just good sense you will be protected from retaliation if you report it. You can talk to your manager, anyone in management, someone in HR or the CEO at any time. You can also email confidential@nycsbus.com, that email is only seen by the head of HR and CEO. You can also report concerns to the inspector general for NYC Public Schools, their website is https://nycsci.org. NYCSBUS doesn’t just protect these rights, so does the State of New York. Employee protections as a whistleblower are described in NY Labor Law section 70, here: https://dol.ny.gov/system/files/documents/2022/02/ls740_1.pdf.
Affirmative Action: NYCSBUS is an equal opportunity / affirmative action employer. We believe that a workplace with people from a variety of backgrounds and with a variety of life experiences helps us make better decisions, helps us do a better job serving kids, families and schools, and it makes for a better work environment. We believe that we have a commitment to help everyone succeed at our company. And we believe that over the course of our nation’s and our industry’s history some groups of people have had less opportunity than others and we all have an obligation to correct those historic inequities. . You can read more about our comitment to affirmative action by reviewing our plan, located here.
Bylaws: Our company is governed by a Board of Directors which holds public meetings, posts its minutes and governs itself by a set of bylaws. Information about all of that is here: https://www.nycsbus.com/about
